As working here at VNPost, a state-owned corporation that doesn’t take much of my time, I always want to find the ideas to have chance to improve my coding skill.
So this idea came from a talk with a friend of mine. He often picked up shipping orders from some Facebook groups as a part time job. But the problem was it’s hard to find the good shipping orders that match with his routes.
My solution was to do crawling the newest posts from these FB groups. Next, do filtering the content to get address, price, phonenumber… Then building a mobile app for him to use. I was success to finish building the whole things in just 2 days of the weekend. It was actually help my friend got better income and save more time.
Later, I was with him trying to bring it for many other delivery people. With my naive mind, I had thought that I could make a decent amount of money from the idea. But very soon later, I realized this market is very competitive. It was truly a delicious piece of cake that many logistics companies are interested in.
But in the end of the day, I still feel happy and satisfy with the things I have done, finished building a full workflow for a product by my own. This was actually my first time to deliver a real product, solved many technical and business problems in very short time.
It was also funny of using the name Gom Shit and the poop icon for the app at the first place. I loved that name but I had to change later as it got rejected from Google Play and App Store.
